AFA Awards JROTC Instructor Grants for Aerospace Education

In 2007 the Air Force Association awarded 39 Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor Grants totaling $9,750 to improve educational opportunities for America's youth. The grants of $250 each go to the JROTC instructors to help their individual classes of cadets. The funds are used for any activity promoting aerospace-related studies, such as purchasing textbooks or a field trip to an aerospace museum.

AFA promotes the study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to develop the skills for young Americans that will lead the next generation of aerospace advances and keep the United States secure and strong. "JROTC instructors are educating our next generation of aerospace leaders and we're pleased to add another resource," said Bob Largent, Chairman of the Board for AFA. "These grants focus on both the subjects and the students that will strengthen the future of aerospace development," said Michael Dunn, President/CEO of AFA.
