FY 2010 Congressional Budget Hearings


The President’s FY 2010 Budget will be released to Congress in the coming weeks. Whether discussing recapitalization, roles and missions debates, or personnel initiatives, there are a number of Air Force-related issues that will be debated on Capitol Hill in the coming months as part of this budgetary process. The Air Force Association encourages you to learn more about these topics by following the congressional hearings that will take place throughout the next several months.

House Armed Services Committee (Chairman Skelton, D-Mo.) will hold a hearing on developments of security and stability in Afghanistan.

Vietnam Veterans Longitudinal Study
House Veterans' Affairs Committee
House Veterans' Affairs Committee (Chairman Filner, D-Calif.) will hold a hearing on the National Vietnam Veterans Longitudinal Study, which is an investigation into the physical and psychological health of Vietnam veterans. The study will supplement earlier research, including studies on PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] and on the health of women Vietnam veterans. It is a follow-up to an earlier study that concluded in 1988.
