The Author
Grover E. (Gene) Myers is currently
a senior defense policy analyst with Science Applications
International Corporation (SAIC) working with the Air Force
strategic plans office and a senior fellow with the AFA
sponsored Eaker Institute for Aerospace Concepts. He is a
retired Air Force officer with over 3000 flying hours in both
rescue helicopters and B-52 bomber aircraft. Prior to signing on
with SAIC he was a senior doctrine analyst with the Air Force
Doctrine Center where he was responsible for developing the
Service’s newest basic doctrine manual Air Force Doctrine
Document (AFDD)-1. He is also the author of two books and
numerous published articles on varied aerospace doctrinal,
nuclear policy, and politico-military topics.
